Bas Smit joins Oceanside as Head of Business Development Belgium & Luxembourg. He will collaborate closely with Managing Partners André van den Heuvel and Tim Soetens to further enhance and strengthen Oceanside’s outsourced distribution services for regulated asset managers, while increasing proximity to professional investors in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Smit brings extensive experience in asset management distribution, covering a broad spectrum of investment strategies and client channels. Prior to joining Oceanside, he served as Executive Director of Business Development for the Benelux region at Aegon Asset Management, a position he held for seven years.
